Traveling around Cambodia

It was taken along the way from Siem Rean to Preah Vihear. We took two days to reach Preah Vihear. It was raining, and the taxis stucked once along the way.

We intended to arrive in Preah Vihear temple by night. Unfortunately, the rain was pouring down all the time, which slowed down our journey. We arrived in one of the province, 20km away from preah vihear at 7pm. The driver reccomended us to stay there, and he even looked for guest house for us. There wasn't any electricity light along the road, and most of the houses didn't have one. The guesthouse we stayed has electricity, but it cutted off after nine pm. After 9pm the whole village has no electricity. For city boys and girls, it's difficult to stay overnight without electricity. Electricity, for this current world, is very important factor to boost economics growth. The Electricity around that is taken from Thailand, i guess.
Here is the guesthouse we stayed. Actually, the guest is owned by a government offier, who working for Ministry of Economy and Finance. It's not really a guesthouse.

That's the market activity in the morning. Something interesting about this pictures. Most market participation are female. Well, it could be one of Cambodia tradition that woman is born to be housewife, so she needs to go to market early morning to buy food; while husband needs to work on the farm or in other kind of occupation. I don't think there are many foreigners come to this village as it is a remote area. Pontentially, and optimistically, it could grow to be one the modern city.

The banner is on Preah Vihear mountain. Thailand is at the other side of the mountain. so i guess the banner would act as an counter-insult to Thai, whose habit likes to look down on its neigboring countries.
